If your looking to read the Tracers series in order, this story goes in between books two and three and was originally published in the anthology 'Deadly Promises' in 2010. Although only a short story, it was well written and enjoyable nonetheless. I liked Kelsey, loved Gage and though the plot wasn't a favorite of mine it was still engaging and never boring. This couple goes through a bit in their short time together and their attraction and chemistry was believable even if the relationship did feel rushed because of the short page count. I've looked ahead and know they'll be getting a full-length novel later down the road too. In the end I wish it had been longer, but it was still a good and solid romantic suspense, especially for just being a novella.

Unstoppable Tracers Series edition by Laura Griffin Romance eBooks Reviews

I am so glad I found this novella. I usually don't like short books because I read fast and am done way too quickly, however, it is worth it to me if the information in it is important to my understanding of the other books in the series. This book falls under that category. I am really glad I read it. I will enjoy the full length novel about Kelsey much more now since I know the roots of their past relationship.
Griffin seems to never disappoint me. Her characters are interesting with intense work ethics and a love of country. I really liked the Navy Seal character of Gage. He reminds me how blessed we are to have such brave fighting men in the Navy Seals. I would recommend all of Griffin's tracer series books.
This novella is just an introduction to the characters of Kelsey and Gage. I suppose it's a way to set up their previous history together. It's typical of the rest of the series, which is to say great chemistry, a hot man, and a decent plot. I haven't read "Scorched" yet (starting it today), but I don't feel that this novella is a MUST to follow that story, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. But let me clear up where "Unstoppable" falls in the order of things, because I read it in the wrong order thus already knew how this long-distance relationship was going to go. I incorrectly thought this novella came right before "Scorched", but it doesn't as Gage and Kelsey's relationship is mentioned in the book before that one, "Twisted". So "Unstoppable" definitely comes before "Twisted". However, there was one bit in "Unstoppable" that made me feel it came even earlier in the series, even before "Unforgivable", which was Mia's story. And here's why in this novella, there's a part where it says Mia is leaving work late to go home to an empty apartment. Well, in the beginning of "Unforgivable", we find out she recently bought a house and by the end, she certainly isn't alone anymore. So as timelines go, I think "Unstoppable" falls between "Unspeakable" and "Unforgivable".
Loved it! Unstoppable is a fast-paced, fun read full of suspense and romance. I loved both main characters, and the sizzling chemistry between them. I'll admit, I developed a little crush on Gage (hello sexy...SUPER sexy alpha male!). Also, I loved the length of this book - as a busy mom, it's hard for me to commit to a 500-page ebook, and this was just perfect. It was my little escape for the week and I loved every minute of it.
This is a short introduction to Kelsey and Gage, who will be getting a full book coming up later this year. Kelsey is working near the border in a dangerous area and her uncle sends Gage, who's on leave, to watch out for her. She doesn't think a babysitter is necessary, but when human bones are found indicating recent kills, things take a very bad turn. The plot was very short, but very fast paced. The Delphi Center, local law enforcement and the FBI are all brought into this investigation and Kelsey's routine dig site ends up also being the location of a large tunnel going under the US/Mexico border and more than just people are crossing into the US.

While the suspense storyline was interesting, the biggest thing this story does is set up Kelsey and Gage. Gage had tragedy happen on a past mission and he's still dealing with the after effects of that. Emotionally, he's closed off, and meeting Kelsey starts to open him up to living again. Kelsey is drawn to Gage right away, but I love how focused on her job she is. She's a smarty pants and young in her field, but she knows what she's doing and she wants to do what's right, always. If that means abandoning her original dig plans to help solve a murder investigation, then she goes all out.

I question a little bit their declaration of love after knowing each other such a short time, but more importantly, this story sets their romance in motion, we get an idea about the rough path ahead for this couple in TWISTED which will then lead into their book SCORCHED. I can't wait to get more from them. Gage is so very alpha, but is really struggling with that past mission that went so wrong. I can't wait to see how these two driven people handle not only a long distance relationship, but for Kelsey, her biggest concern is Gage and his dangerous job. This was a great teaser and it'll be interesting to see these two grow as a couple and try to make their lives work together. I don't believe this is a short story that will be necessary to read before their book comes out, but I'd recommend it to get their story from their very first meeting. Based on this novella and their behind the scenes events in TWISTED, this will be a couple that you'll want to read everything you can about.

Blog rating4/5
I started the Tracers series with a much later book. It was enough to get me reading more of them. This one is a good read and will get you into the forensics that first got my attention. Kelsey is a forensic anthropologist working at the famous Delphi Center. On a summer anthro dig, questionable events are happening nearby. Enter Gage, Navy Seal, sent to protect her by her uncle, who is CO to Gage. It gets hot between them, but is not overdone! I would recommend this story as a stand alone, but even more, read the series and get to know the many characters you encounter in the stories!!
